I’ve been at this ‘venture investing’ gig now for 60 days and the biggest surprise has been the prevalence of investors coming into the Triangle region from outside and investing in SAFEs. While I had heard of these, I thought they were largely a Silicon Valley thing and super early stage.
Boy was I wrong. What I’m find is the majority of investments are SAFEs and they are being used not only for early stage deals, but up and down the round sequence – basically replacing convertible notes.
Let’s get smart on SAFEs
I believe our Triangle angel investors and founders should know more about this vehicle, so we’ve enlisted the help of Tweener Fund LP, Neil Bagchi from Bagchi law to host a webinar open to everyone this Thursday (2/24/22) at 10am. If you can’t make it, we’ll have a recording that will be posted on this blog here->
NOTE: At this time the webinar has happened and you can find the recap here.
When: Feb 24, 2022 10:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
